Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a soft tissue cancer usually seen in children and is known to be influenced by genetic and environmental factors.  Other than bone, this tumor can occur anywhere in the body, especially the head and neck, extremities and the urinary tract.  Common symptoms from Rhabdomyosarcoma include pain, breathlessness, anemia, dysfunction of the affected organ and pressure symptoms related to the tumor.  Rhabdomyosarcoma can be treated with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma is aimed at treating the muscle tumor as well as symptoms created by the tumor in the affected organ and surrounding area.  Treatment is also given to prevent a spread of the tumor to other parts of the body.  Herbal medicines which specifically act on the muscle tissue are used in high doses to treat the uncontrolled growth of primitive muscle tissue, thereby controlling the tumor, killing the cancer cells, and removing the cells through the feaces and urine.  Medicines also need to be given to treat cancer cells present in the circulatory system as well as the lymph nodes and channels.  This prevents the cancer from spreading to other parts of the body.  Any metastases, if present, needs to be treated along with the primary cancer tumor.

In addition, Ayurvedic herbal medicines are also given to boost the immune status of the affected individual, so that the body can reorganizes its defense system and attack the cancer cells and gradually destroy the tumor.  Immunomodulatory herbal treatment helps in treating the tumor quickly, preventing its spread, as well as preventing recurrence of the condition.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment can thus be utilised in the management and treatment of Rhabdomyosarcoma, and can help the affected individual to go into remission, as well as minimize the chances for future recurrence.
