Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment for Lymphoma

Lymphoma is a blood cancer primarily affecting the lymphatic system of the body and develops from abnormal or immature lymphocyte cells, on the basis of which it is classified as Hodgkin lymphoma or non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  The common risk factors for lymphoma include old age, infections, a severely compromised immune status, exposure to toxic substances, and a family history of this condition.  Lymphoma results in a disturbed immunity and causes symptoms like painless and enlarged lymph nodes, spleen enlargement, fever, chills, weight loss, fatigue, night sweats, and itching.  The modern management of this condition includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and biological therapy; however, the overall long-term results of this treatment are not very encouraging.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment for lymphoma is aimed at treating the lymphatic system in order to produce normal and nature lymphocyte cells, treating the symptoms resulting from this condition, as well as normalizing the immune status of the affected individual.  Ayurvedic herbal medicines which act on the bone marrow, the liver and spleen are used in high doses so that normal lymphocyte production commences in a regulated way.  In addition, the uncontrolled production of abnormal lymphocyte is  reversed, and these cancerous cells art flushed out from the body via the circulation and then from the gastrointestinal tract or through the kidneys and the urinary tract.

Ayurvedic herbal immunomodulatory agents are used in high doses in order to boost the immune status of the affected individual, so that lymphoma can be treated at the earliest, and long-term complications resulting from this condition can be reduced or prevented.  Symptomatic treatment is also given for enlarged lymph nodes and for other symptoms like fever, chills, night sweats, and itching.  Medicines which boost the immunity of the affected individual also bring about a reduction in fatigue and help the affected individual to put on weight.  All types of lymphoma are serious blood cancers and have a grim outlook.  Aggressive and long-term treatment lasting for about six to nine months is essential in order to bring about a complete remission from this condition.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment can thus be judiciously utilised in the successful management and treatment of lymphoma.
